Good morning! I am thrilled to be helping Picket Fence Studios celebrate their first birthday!! It’s hard to believe they’ve only been around for a year!! All month long they’re celebrating their birthdays with lots of guest designers and giveaways! At the end of my post I’ll share how to enter to win a $100 gift certificate to their shop! Anyway, I’ve created two cards today using one of their newer stamps and one of their older! Let’s start with the older Little Coral Girl!
Isn’t she adorable!? I started by stamping her on white cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed her with clear embossing powder. Then I colored her with copics and die-cut her with the coordinating die. I also stamped the sentiment from Vortex of Fish onto black cardstock with versamark and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder before die-cutting it to a thin label. I added a little crystal glaze to her tail, top, and flower and then sprinkled it with chunky and prisma glitter. I set her aside to dry while I worked on the rest of the card.
Next I created a fun swirly alcohol ink background using copic refills in BV02, BV04, and BV08 along with alcohol blending solution. While the ink was still wet I added touches of silver foil by pressing the foil to the sticky bits of ink. Once the panel was totally dry I inked the Vortex of Fish with alcohol lift ink and stamped it on the panel. I blotted off the excess ink and then rubbed the panel with a soft cloth to reveal the fishy pattern! I adhered the mermaid and sentiment with foam mounting tape to finish the card!
Next up is this stunning Botan Peony!! I love the huge size for coloring! I stamped the peony and a sentiment from A Dose of Vitamin Sea onto canson montval cardstock with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I scribbled red and orange watercolor markers onto a piece of acetate, spritzed it with water and pressed it to the watercolor paper to create a soft background. I let that dry completely and then I watercolored the flower vibrantly with watercolor markers and a damp paintbrush!
Once the panel was dry I added a little darker shading with copic markers. Then I spritzed the panel with water, blotted the excess, and then splattered it with pink, black, and white paint to add a little contrast. Finally I added a few sparkling clear and matte black sequins with clear drops to finish the card!
