More with the Simon Says Stamp July Card Kit: Bee Yourself

15 Jun

Good morning!  Have you picked up the newest Simon Says Stamp Card Kit: Bee Yourself yet?

I shared two cards using the kit yesterday and today I have another card and coordinating envelope to share!

We Bee-Long Together by Jessica Frost-Ballas for Simon Says Stamp

Today I’m sharing how to combine the kit with some older Simon Says Stamp products for even more versatility!  To start I stamped the bees once onto white cardstock and once on vellum with versafine and heat-embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I also stamped the heart trail and bee onto vellum with versafine, heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder, and fussy cut it.  Then I colored the bees on the white cardstock and fussy cut just their bodies.  I also fussy cut the vellum bees and adhered them behind the white cardstock bodies.  I added accents with a white gel pen and then bent the wings up slightly to give them a little dimension.  Next I added a layer of spectrum noir clear sparkle and crystal glaze to their wings and noses and let them dry.

While they were drying I worked on the rest of the card.  First I die-cut a piece of patterned paper from the kit with the Wonky Rectangle dies and adhered it to a black card panel.  I stamped the sentiment from Bee Yourself onto the patterned paper with versafine and heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I die-cut the Hexagon element from the Rest and Refresh release and reserved a few of the inner hexagon pieces.  I used the glue sponge to adhere the intricate die to the patterned paper and then adhered a few hexagons back inside the die.  I adhered my bees over the vellum heart with foam mounting tape and then adhered the vellum to the panel.  I added a few more hexagons popped up with foam mounting tape inside and outside the die and then finished the card with a few sequins included in the kit!

Finally I used another piece of patterned paper from the kit to die-cut the envelope liner and popped it inside the included envelope.  On the front of the envelope I stamped the hexagon with Sunshine ink to finish the coordinating set!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have an amazing weekend!
